LINGNAV MONITORING METHODOLOGY

Measure AI visibility
without overstating certainty.

LingNav uses a structured, reviewable workflow to separate discovery, recommendation, evidence, and uncertainty.

THE MONITORING MODEL

From company context to comparable evidence

A Monitoring Baseline fixes the company context and prompt snapshots first, then records independent runs and reviewed evidence before optimization work begins.

01

Company context

Define the brand, website, category, market context, and buyer question.

02

Prompt set

Use multiple prompt categories and repeated runs instead of treating one answer as a market conclusion.

03

Reviewed signals

Separate mention, recommendation, competitor appearance, and URL/source observations.

04

Evidence-led action

Use reviewed evidence to prepare tasks, then reuse the same prompt snapshots for a comparable re-test.

SIGNALS, NOT CLAIMS

How LingNav reads a response

Unaided

The brand is not supplied in the buyer/search prompt. This is the closest signal to organic discovery within that tested prompt set.

Aided

The brand is supplied explicitly. An aided mention can be a prompt-seeded echo and is not counted as organic discovery.

Mention

A response identifies or names the brand. Mention alone is not a recommendation.

Recommendation

A response endorses or includes the brand as a relevant provider. It is evaluated separately from mention.

Competitor appearance

Named alternative providers appearing in a response are recorded as response context, not market share.

Citation/source analysis

URLs or domains in a response are extracted and classified by source type; deterministic extraction can be reviewed and qualified.

CURRENT PROVIDER BOUNDARY

Kimi is the current Production integration

LingNav's current Production Monitoring Baseline uses Kimi. ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Doubao, and other AI answer/search environments are target or expanding coverage, not current Production integrations.

LIMITATIONS

What a baseline cannot prove

  • AI outputs are probabilistic and can vary by prompt, provider, model, and time.
  • A small baseline is directional evidence, not statistical certainty or a universal market result.
  • One provider's answer does not represent all AI systems.
  • First-party visibility does not equal independent recommendation or third-party validation.
  • Prompt-seeded/aided results must remain separate from organic discovery.
